Moonshadow Cruises Pty Ltd is an owner operated business that specialises in whale watching cruises, and dolphin watching cruises based in Nelson Bay, Port Stephens, since 1981.

We have three vessels that operate from Port Stephens and Newcastle to cater for our client’s needs, with a range of cruises including whale watching to suit all.

Moonshadow Cruises offer the largest and most luxurious vessels in Port Stephens and Newcastle to ensure a memorable and comfortable cruise.

We have won multiple tourism awards at regional and state levels. Including the 2005 Tourism Award for 'Tour and Transport Operators' for both Hunter Region and North Coast.

Our whale cruises have an excellent humpback whale sighting rate. Morning or afternoon tea is included in all our whale watching cruises. Plus we even offer a free return whale watch cruise if you don't see a whale.

Our 25 years experience means that we know what is important to you. Our cruises run to schedule, with guaranteed departure every day, our vessels have the capacity to carry large numbers without crowding and our friendly crew are dedicated to providing a comfortable and memorable cruise.

On our website there is information on our timetabled cruises, wonderful location and current rates. Vessel inspection is welcome and we are only too happy to accommodate your special needs, as best we can.

Moonshadow Cruises are 'Ecotourism Accredited' for our Dolphin Watch, Whale Watch and Broughton Island National Park cruises. "Ecotourism is ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation" (Ecotourism Australia).
